CSLB Sting Leads to Stop-Work Order for Uninsured Contractor

The Contractors State License Board issued a stop-work order for failure to carry workers’ compensation coverage to an unlicensed contractor who was caught in a sting operation in Northern California. Jesus Magana Barragan, owner of Barragan Tree Service in Sonoma, was cited for contracting without a license and illegal advertising. He was also instructed to stop all work until he obtains proof that he has workers’ compensation coverage, according to a statement issued by CSLB.
