A middle-aged Atlanta woman suffered a broken wrist and severe lacerations from use of a machine used to assemble air filters, according to the U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
While working at American Air Filters, Inc. last October, the 56-year-old worker was removing glue from the rails of the machine when she dropped her putty knife. While trying to retrieve it, the moving parts of the machine, also called a Lebanon, were not shut down properly and she made contact with them, resulting in her injuries.
