Court Steps Up Enforcement Actions on Noncompliance

The Nebraska Workers' Compensation Court says it stepped up its game in prosecuting employers who fail to purchase workers' compensation insurance, and collected more than $52,000 in fines and penalties during the fiscal year that ended in June. The compensation court, which oversees the state's workers' compensation system administration and claims dispute resolutions, did not have data on previous years' prosecutions and penalty collections.
