Insurance Co. of the West filed a civil complaint accusing a Northern California towing company of not paying $105,373 in workers’ compensation premiums.
The carrier says in its complaint filed March 28 with in San Francisco Superior Court that it sold a policy to South City Tow effective from May 19, 2015, to May 19, 2016. The estimated annual premium was $144,837, according to court documents.
An audit finished in August 2016 determined South City Tow owed a total $124,001 for the policy period. Having already paid $18,628, that left a balance of $105,373.
