A bill by the Idaho state House of Representatives Commerce and Human Resources Committee would ensure workers’ compensation continues to cover first responders’ claims for post-traumatic stress disorder past this summer.
The committee’s bill, HB 18, would repeal a sunsetting statute that would automatically repeal a law enacted in 2019 declaring that PTSD is a compensable condition for first responders who have clear and convincing evidence that it was caused by an event or events arising out of and in the course of employment.
