A policy committee of the Utah Senate passed a bill that would increase the add-on to temporary disability and permanent disability indemnity benefits for dependents.
The Senate Economic Development and Workforce Services Committee voted 4-0 on Jan. 25 to pass Senate Bill 40.
The bill, by Sen. Karen Mayne, D-West Valley City, would increase, to $20 from $5, the additional payment made to an injured worker for a dependent spouse and for up to four dependent children under the age of 18.
