Bill Aimed at Improving Treatment of Firefighter Cancer Claims Scheduled for Hearing

The Hawaii House of Representatives' Committee on Consumer Protection and Commerce will hear testimony today on a bill intended to expedite workers’ compensation claims by firefighters in part by increasing the reimbursement for medical services provided on their claims. Senate Bill 2660, by Sen. Rosalyn Baker, D-Maui, would set the maximum payment for doctors treating firefighters with accepted cancer claims at 137% of the fee schedule amount.
