Court to Review Castlepoint Liquidation Request

California Insurance Commissioner Dave Jones has applied for a court order to liquidate Castlepoint National Insurance Co. Jones was named conservator for Castlepoint in July, when the San Francisco Superior Court gave him authority to take possession of all assets of Castlepoint, and pay claims and expenses on its behalf.  Ten carriers that had been part of the Tower Group were merged as Castlepoint National before the conservatorship and are part of the court action.
