Work Comp Seminar for Medical Staff Offered in San Antonio

Health care providers in the San Antonio area can bone up the Texas workers’ compensation system during a seminar on Sept. 19.

The seminar covers:

• Identifying a workers’ compensation patient and verifying coverage.
• Utilization review — prospective, concurrent and retrospective review of medical necessity.
• Return-to-work and the DWC073.
• Medical bill processing and fee guidelines.
• Processes for resolving disputes.

The Division of Workers’ Compensation and the University of Texas-San Antonio Small Business Development Center will host the educational session at the UTSA Downtown Campus from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Registration is $40 in advance and $60 at the door, and includes breakfast, lunch and parking.
