The Stark County grand jury charges Dr. Frank D. Lazzerini with two counts of involuntary manslaughter and with trafficking opioids, sedatives, anti-anxiety pills and stimulants, CantonRep.com reported.

Stark County sheriff’s deputies raided Lazzerini’s office two years ago and arrested him at his father’s home in Akron. His medical license has been suspended since Jun 2016, when Lazzerini signed a consent agreement to refrain from practicing while police investigated reports that he had overprescribed medications.

Stark County Prosecutor John Ferrero said Lazzerini’s prescriptions led to the deaths of Jaimie Hayhurst in August 2014 and Nathaniel Carder in December 2014.
