Oral arguments are scheduled today in the Utah Supreme Court regarding the state's appeal of 3rd District Judge Timothy Hanson's ruling that the state has no ownership in Workers Compensation Fund (WCF) other than as policyholder. As part of an ongoing debate over ownership of the fund, the fund's expansion plans, and various proposals through the years to "privatize" the fund or otherwise access the fund's assets by the state, litigation last year ended with Judge Hanson's ruling in favor of the fund.
