The tire company Goodyear will pay $1.75 million in a settlement with the Virginia labor department over four fatal accidents in one year at a Danville plant.
One million dollars will go to the state. The other $750,000 is intended to go toward fixing safety hazards at the Danville plant, which employs roughly 2,200 workers.
Four people died in accidents at the plant between August 2015 and August 2016.
