The California Division of Workers’ Compensation is keeping in place until January emergency regulations governing the suspension of providers and practitioners convicted of fraud to assess whether pending legal challenges require revisions before formal rules are adopted.
At the same time, the division said it needs time to shore up the rules to ensure that lien consolidation proceedings triggered by a suspension are not disrupted. The Office of Administrative Law on Sept. 28 granted the division’s request to extend the emergency rules until Jan. 3.
