Rollover Accident Resulting in Amputation Brings $42K in Fines

A lawn mower accident that led to the amputation of two of a workers' toes prompted an inspection by the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration and $42,000 in fines against a Pennsylvania landscaping company. OSHA on Jan. 29 cited SNS Lawn & Landscape Services in Lancaster, which does business as The Ground Guys, for two willful, five serious and one other-than-serious safety and health violations. Ground Guys notified OSHA on Aug. 10, 2015 that an employee suffered a double toe amputation when he lost control of the lawn mower he was operating on a wet grassy slope. Only...
