The Tennessee Division of Workers’ Compensation says it has seen its share of problems with case managers who overstep the boundaries of their duties to help rehabilitate injured workers – such as, say, discussing with the worker or the worker’s doctor whether the injury is compensable.
In a proposed rule that’s now in the hands of the Department of State, the DWC is hoping to shut such out-of-scope behavior down – and at the same time bring the standards of case management up.
