Bill Would Clarify Authority of Insurance Department to Enforce Comp Laws

Legislation introduced in Utah would clarify that the Insurance Department is allowed to investigate and enforce certain provisions of the state’s workers’ compensation laws. House Bill 55, by Rep. James A. Dunnigan, R-Taylorsville, would clarify the department’s authority to investigate and pursue civil or criminal penalties for workers’ compensation insurance fraud.
