State Sen. Leland Yee’s bribery and gun-running indictment is once again raising questions about whether the rules that govern California's workers' compensation system are tainted by corruption.
The suspended San Francisco Democrat pleaded not guilty Thursday in U.S. District Court to federal racketeering charges of conspiring to accept a bribe in exchange for voting for Assembly Bill 1309, a bill that effectively banned cumulative trauma claims from professional athletes for out-of-state teams.
