The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration is proposing $48,400 in penalties against an Illinois roofing company for exposing workers to fall hazards.
OSHA said in a press release that employees at a construction site in Bradley, Illinois, were expected to work on a low-sloped roof, 13 feet above the ground without the recommended means of fall protection. OSHA said it cited Champion Roofing Inc. of Bensenville, Illinois, for two willful safety violations. The company has been cited by OSHA five times in the past five years for exposing workers to fall hazards.
