City Denies Families of 'Seasonal' Firefighters Full Death Benefits

The families of the 19 firefighters who died in an Arizona wildfire in late June are all entitled to workers' compensation death benefits and a one-time federal payment of $328,000 for the loss of their loved ones, but the City of Prescott is saying that only six of the families are entitled to an additional award of benefits worth millions.According to the city, only six of the 19 men who perished together on June 30 were full-time employees.
