Gov. Dannel Malloy has signed into law an altered version of a bill that originally intended to eliminate workers' ability to choose whom to notify when filing a workers' compensation claim.
In its final form, House Bill 7132 preserves workers' ability to notify either their employer or a workers' compensation commissioner. When the House Judiciary Committee drafted the bill in January, the measure required injured workers to notify their employer's human resources department when filing a claim.
