The New York State Workers’ Compensation Board announced a new process for a schedule loss of use award as well as changes to a related form.
Schedule loss of use awards are cash benefits paid to injured workers for the loss of wage-earning capacity resulting from permanent impairment of a body part from a workplace injury.
The board said it revised and clarified the online form, EC-81.7, to streamline the schedule loss of use process and expedite resolution when the injured worker has a permanent impairment.
