The Alabama Supreme Court ruled that the state Workers' Compensation Act did not deprive a grieving father of his constitutional right to a remedy by due process of law for his daughter’s death, allegedly caused by the negligence of her employer. Iyana Crenshaw worked for Sonic Drive-In of Greenville Inc. Her father filed suit against Sonic in July 2023, alleging that she had died from injuries sustained in the course and scope of her employment due to Sonic’s negligence.
