High-Cost Injury Threshold Rises 4.87% to $183K

On Jan. 1, the amount of money that must be spent on a workers' compensation hospital bill for the injury to be considered catastrophic and high-cost will rise 4.87%, according to an official notice posted in Monday's Minnesota State Register.  The amount will rise from $175,000 to $183,523. Minnesota updates the threshold for catastrophic, high-cost injuries yearly based on increases in the average total charges for inpatient care at hospitals around the state.
