Repeat Violations Bring $59,100 in Fines against Lumber Mill

Electrical hazards and a lack of fall protection prompted the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration to propose $59,100 in fines against a Georgia lumber mill. OSHA issued citations to RB Lumber in Riceboro, Georgia, for two repeated and two serious safety violations. Inspectors said the company failed to provide fall protection equipment to workers walking on top of machinery and also exposed workers to electrical hazards.
