A flurry of marijuana-related legislation introduced in various states as well as Congress this year is just one way that pot is keeping the workers’ comp industry on its toes.
Bills were introduced in at least five states that would require work comp payers to reimburse employees for marijuana used to treat their work-related injuries. The states include Kansas, Maine, New Jersey, New York and Vermont, according to an article last week in Mitchell’s mPower publication.
