OSHA Says Mobile Home Parts Maker Exposed Workers to Amputations, Shocks

A Texas manufacturer of mobile home trailer axles exposed workers to amputations and should pay nearly $55,000 in fines, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration says. The agency cited Lone Star Wheel Components Inc. with 23 serious violations, including failure to protect workers from electrical shock hazards by not covering rotating and extended machine parts properly, and for not following lockout/tagout procedures to guard against sudden machine startup.
