Oregon's Management-Labor Advisory Committee will discuss four legislative proposals, including one that would increase payments to attorneys who represent injured workers and another that would create an alternative security fund for self-insured employers, when it meets April 3 in Salem.
House Bill 2764, by Rep. Shemia Fagan, D-Clackamas, would allow attorneys to be paid an hourly rate for representing injured workers. Trial attorneys who support the measure are currently negotiating with representatives from the insurance industry, who are opposed to the bill.
