The Texas House Insurance Committee will consider the state’s residual workers’ compensation market, among other interim charges, in its hearing scheduled this morning at 10 a.m.
The speaker of the House assigns interim charges to House committees in Texas’ even-numbered legislative off-years. In January, Speaker Joe Straus assigned the Insurance Committee to “Make recommendations for any necessary reforms to address the long-term stability of the residual market for workers’ compensation insurance in this state.”
