The 2nd District Court of Appeal on Tuesday denied reconsideration of its prior decision upholding the dismissal of Michael D. Drobot's defamation claims against three California law firms.
It also changed its prior decision to a published ruling, which means it is now binding precedent for the state.
Drobot, former owner of Pacific Hospital of Long Beach, had sought $60 million in damages from Kabateck, Brown and Kellner, Cotchett Pitre & McCarthy, and Knox Ricksen.
