TRIA Extension Bill Set for House Committee Hearing

A bill in Congress to extend a federal terrorism risk backstop that’s set to expire at the end of 2020 is scheduled for a committee hearing on Tuesday. Rep. Maxine Waters, D-California, introduced H.R. 4634, the Terrorism Risk Insurance Program Reauthorization Act of 2019, on Oct. 11. The bill would extend the program in its current form for 10 years, through 2030.
