A Senate bill amended earlier this month would restore statutes allowing certain California horse-racing associations that conduct races to deduct a percentage of the total amount handled in exotic parimutuel pools for the purposes of defraying costs of workers' compensation insurance.Sen. Roger Hernandez, D-West Covina, amended his Senate Bill 777 to re-instate three sections of the Business and Professions Code relating to horse racing that expired on Jan. 1, 2014.
