An Upstate New York claimant who defrauded a workers’ compensation insurer out of $4,013 in benefits will spend his weekends in jail for the next three months after pleading guilty to insurance fraud in the fifth degree, and petit larceny.
Sergio Forte, 52, of LeRoy, was also ordered to pay restitution for the benefits he started collecting in 2015 when he claimed he injured his knee while carrying construction materials and working as a tile setter for a flooring company, the New York Inspector General’s Office said.
