A Valdosta, Georgia, business owner has been arrested and accused of altering workers’ compensation insurance certificates to avoid paying premiums, according to WFXL-TV.
Pieter A. Demare, Jr. was arrested after an investigation by the Georgia State Board of Workers’ Compensation’s Enforcement Division. Demare is the owner of Demare Wallcoverings, doing business as Apartment Turn Key Services, a contractor for residential and commercial painting.
