South Dakota regulators have scheduled a Sept. 6 public hearing on a proposed rule change that would give the secretary of the Department of Labor & Regulation authority to dismiss requests for declaratory rulings without holding a hearing.
Requests for declaratory rulings are made if a party wishes to know where the department stands on the applicability of a statute, rule or department order.
