Self-Insurer Assessment Drops to 3.5%

The Arizona Industrial Commission voted to lower the self-insured employer total assessment rate for 2014 to 3.5% from 5% in 2013 and 5.5% in 2012.The commission on Wednesday voted to set the Administrative Fund tax rate at 1.75%, a reduction from 2.75% last year and 3% the year before that.The Special Fund Assessment, which pays for vocational rehabilitation as well as medical and indemnity benefits, was reduced to 1.14% from 1.25% in 2013.The apportionment assessment rate, which was adopted in June, is 0.25% and the Insolvent Carrier/Bankrupt Self-Insured Employer assessment rate is 0.36%.Th...
