Proposed new reimbursement rates for hospital inpatient and outpatient services would raise costs in the Florida workers’ compensation system by an estimated $80 million, the National Council on Compensation Insurance says.
Increased rates for ambulatory surgical centers would add another $22 million in system costs if new rates are passed during the upcoming legislative session.
The NCCI estimates are included in the Division of Workers’ Compensation’s draft 2017 biennial report that the agency will present to its governing Three-Member Panel on Jan. 5.
