Report: Companies Tout Profits in Physician Dispensing

The Nevada Current reports companies from California and Florida are pushing physician dispensing as a way for doctors to maximize revenue. The nonprofit reports a Florida company called Dispensing Physician has a website that says doctors can make an extra $25,000 to $100,000 a year, and sometimes more, by providing drugs directly to patients. “For a single physician practice seeing 30 patients per day, on average, the annual income can range from $70,000-$125,000,” the website reportedly says. “Workers’ compensation costs and profit margins vary by state.” An...
