BWC to Hold Hearing on Wide Range of Rule Changes

The Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation will hold a public hearing Dec. 6 on proposed changes to a wide range of safety requirements for state businesses. State law requires the BWC to review its rules every five years. Safety rules under Chapter 4123:1 of the Ohio Administrative Code were reviewed this year, and the bureau has proposed changes to about 25 sections. They would affect maintenance, protective equipment, scaffolding, cranes, woodworking, steel-making and even helicopters.
