Legislative Panel Approves Former Hartford Mayor as WC Commissioner

A legislative panel has approved former Hartford Mayor Pedro Segarra to be a workers' compensation commissioner. The legislature's Judiciary Committee voted 34-0 last week to approve Segarra's nomination. Members noted that Segarra, who was born in Puerto Rico, will bring diversity and bilingualism to the commission.
