An insurer says the incompetence of two third-party administrators left it on the hook for about $1.9 million in damages in a civil case over improper handling of workers' compensation claims. St. Paul Mercury Insurance Co. in two lawsuits filed with the U.S. District Court for Central California accuses CorVel Corp. and Crawford & Co. of mishandling workers' compensation claims filed against Knight Transportation.
