Heavy Fines Proposed for Alleged Lead Exposure at Battery Plant

A Milwaukee battery manufacturer is facing proposed penalties of $147,822 for allegedly exposing employees to lead and failing to implement an effective lead management program. C&D Technologies Inc. was issued citations for two repeated and six serious safety violations on Friday by the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration. The company has 15 business days to contest the citations.
