The California Assembly passed a bill that would restore the qualified medical evaluator designation for neuropsychologists.
The Assembly on Thursday voted 76-0 to pass Assembly Bill 2086, by Assemblymen Ken Cooley, D-Rancho Cordova, and Devon Mathis, R-Visalia.
The bill, which would take effect immediately if signed into law, would reestablish the QME designation for neuropsychologists that the Division of Workers’ Compensation eliminated in 2015.
Cooley and Mathis introduced a similar measure last year that Gov. Jerry Brown vetoed.
