A Boston-area man who filed a sixth back-injury claims after changing his legal name pleaded guilty last week to a $23,000 workers' compensation fraud, the attorney general's office said. Charles Hood of Dracut pleaded guilty in Middlesex County Superior Court to larceny, unemployment fraud and workers' compensation fraud, officials said. A Middlesex grand jury in September indicted Hood, who had been legally named Charles Byrd, on three counts of larceny over $250, three counts of unemployment fraud and one count of workers' compensation fraud.
