Illinois Comp Attorney Running for Assembly

An Illinois workers' compensation attorney has decided to run against a longtime Republican officeholder who hasn't faced a Democratic opponent in 11 years. Greg Tuite of Rockford is the first Democrat since 1992 to oppose state Rep. Ron Wait in a general election. The 50-year-old Tuite is the head of the Winnebago County Democratic Party and a Rockford Township trustee since 2001, the Daily Chronicle newspaper reported this week.
