The Colorado Supreme Court recently refused to broaden the liability exposure of employers, dismissing a family's tort lawsuit filed against a plumbing company whose employee was involved in an automobile accident after work hours.
The court on Feb. 21 upheld an appellate court decision in Raleigh v. Performance Plumbing, dismissing the negligent hiring claims against the defendant. Members of the Raleigh family sued Performance for damages after they were involved in an accident with a company employee.
