Worker-rights advocates in Midtown Manhattan last week staged a small protest against Gov. Pataki's workers' compensation bill.
The hour-long protest across the street from Pataki's office included speakers in several languages questioning the governor's compassion and his motive for proposing reduced benefits to injured and sickened workers, according to a report in the Downtown Express newspaper.
The group reportedly included ground zero workers who responded to the collapse of the Twin Towers after the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attack in New York City.
