MO in Top 25% for Work Deaths, Declining

Missouri ranks in the top 25 percent of all states for workplace deaths, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Only 12 states had more deaths. More than 130 Missourians were killed in the workplace in 2002, says Missouri's Division of Workers' Compensation. Leading culprits include transportation injuries, assaults and violent acts, contact with objects and equipment, falls, exposure to harmful substances, and fires and explosions.
