A California police chief who walked out of a community services district board meeting last May will receive a $55,000 settlement of his workers' compensation claim for "emotional distress," the Contra Costa Times reported Monday.
The Times said that Police Chief/General Manager Barry Garfield has been on medical leave since he walked out of a board meeting of the Kensington Police Protection and Community Services District.
Under the settlement agreement, the district's workers' compensation carrier will pay Garfield $55,000. He will also file an application for industrial disability...
