An Orange County man who was on federal probation for money laundering in Arizona was sentenced Dec. 16 to five years in prison for faking a workers' compensation claim, Zurich Special Investigative Unit announced.
In a press release, Zurich said Anthony Trani was immediately handcuffed after the sentence was announced in Orange County Superior Court. He was convicted of two counts of workers' compensation fraud, ending a 2 1/2-year investigation by Zurich SIU, the California Department of Insurance Fraud Unit and the Orange County District Attorney's Office.
