Minnesota's rate of workplace injuries and illnesses reached a historic low in 2001, according to statistics from the annual Survey of Occupational Injuries and Illnesses released by the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry (DLI). The survey, administered by DLI and agencies in other states for the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), is the primary source of workplace injury and illness data nationwide. Approximately 4,800 Minnesota employers participated in the 2001 survey.
